About Susie Harrington
Susie Harrington has been immersed in the Insight tradition since 1989 and was invited to teach in 2005. Her foundation is rooted in Thai Forest and Burmese lineages of Theravadan Buddhism, while her practice has also been shaped by extensive study with Tibetan Dzogchen and Mahamudra teachers. She teaches internationally and serves as the guiding teacher for Desert Dharma, supporting communities across the Southwest from her home in Moab, Utah.
Her teaching is deeply embodied, weaving together mindfulness, inquiry, relational dharma, and the psychological and spiritual dimensions of practice. Drawing on training in HakomiTherapy and the Diamond Approach, she offers a grounded and compassionate approach that supports authentic inner exploration. Nature is central to her work: she views it as a powerful teacher and a doorway to our true self, and often leads retreats outdoors.
