Raised in northern Germany, surrounded by fish, tall sailboats and open horizons, Steffi felt an early pull toward exploration — first of the world around her, then of distant continents, and eventually of the inner landscape.
After several years working in design, she traveled to Mexico, where she found surfing in Puerto Escondido and yoga on the beach. The experience lit her up. She was thrilled to dive into the ocean, feel its strength and rhythm, and follow the natural invitation to breathe in and out with the waves.
When she returned to Germany, she wanted to hold onto that sense of flow, so she began practicing Ashtanga Yoga. It helped her stay grounded amid the pace of city life. Still, the sea and nature kept calling, and she eventually moved closer to the coast, teaching yoga in surf camps before settling on Portugal’s wild and beautiful Algarve coast.
Since beginning to teach yoga in 2013, Steffi has trained in India, Bali, Germany and Holland, and is registered as RYT 500 with Yoga Alliance. She has continued teaching and learning around the world ever since. Since 2016, she has also regularly taught on yoga teacher trainings, encouraging new teachers to trust their own unique path.
Her teaching styles include Ashtanga, Vinyasa Flow, Restorative, Yin, and above all, Yoga for Surfers.
Alongside the deeper teachings of yoga, Steffi is especially passionate about breathwork. She loves exploring how to breathe through an asana flow, how to recover after a long paddle out, and how to use the breath as a practical tool in daily practice.
