A Virginia Beach-based aerialist, Sovay is known for her focus on sequencing and movement quality. She believes movement can support healing for both body and soul, and she has been devoted to Aerial Arts since discovering its unique beauty and freedom around 2019. Since then, it has remained her primary physical and creative practice.
Her main apparatuses are lyra and hammock, though she also works with silks, rope, double loops, straps, tiny hoop, and aerial moon. Since 2021, she has taught aerial hoop and sling/hammock at Virginia Beach Aerial Arts Collective, where she also serves as creative director for the twice-yearly student showcases. Her teaching style emphasizes sequencing, movement quality, and spin technique, with a love for finding fresh approaches to foundational skills.
Outside the studio, Sovay is a lifelong spiritual seeker with a deep appreciation for shiny rocks, tiny jars, handmade wooden spoons, black teapots, and little cauldrons. She enjoys hugging trees, befriending beetles, collecting more books than she will ever read, and lighting little pieces of paper on fire.
She has practiced witchcraft since about 2018 and explores a wide range of pagan arts, including tarot, spellcraft, candle magick, moon magick, breathwork, herbology, lucid dreaming, shamanic journeying, and spirit and ancestral guide work. Sovay is passionate about leading meaningful rituals and creating impactful magickal workings for her local community. Through her spiritual path, she has found deep healing for herself and others, and she is grateful for the pagan and metaphysical community as a welcoming space where everyone can arrive exactly as they are.
