Sheryl teaches Vinyasa and Acro yoga in Bali at Power of Now Oasis in Sanur. Born and raised in Bogor, West Java, to Indian-Indonesian parents with a deep Hindu and Sikh heritage, she moved to Bali in 2013 and encountered yoga soon after. What began as a new practice soon became deeply personal, reconnecting her with the meditation and mantras her Indian grandfather had shared with her in childhood—traditions she had quietly carried all along. That living connection between ancestral wisdom and everyday experience continues to shape the way she practices and teaches.
Her journey has been one of continual growth. Sheryl has trained in Iyengar yoga and completed the One Song Teacher Training with Denise Payne and Bex Tyler, FlyHigh Yoga TT, AcroYoga TT, Thai Massage training, and SOHATT with Carlos Romero and Daniella Garza. Along the way, she feels grateful to have met teachers who recognized her authentic self and supported her development into the teacher she strives to be.
Sheryl’s teaching centers on bringing movement and breath into harmony, with a strong emphasis on alignment, fluidity, flow, and creativity. Through thoughtful sequencing and breathwork, she creates a practice that encourages connection, self-awareness, and inner freedom. For her, sharing yoga philosophy is not separate from teaching asana; it is the very core of it.
After more than ten years with the PONO team, Sheryl has become one of our most beloved teachers. Within the [200-hour Yoga Teacher Training](https://powerofnowoasis.com/yoga-teacher-training-bali/), she teaches asana alignment, teaching methodology, Vinyasa, AcroYoga, Thai massage, yoga techniques, philosophy, and history. She loves connecting with people, and what continually draws her back to teaching is the presence yoga makes possible: the stillness, the breath, and the invitation to sit with yourself and go deeper.
Sheryl teaches in both English and Indonesian, making her classes accessible to local and international students alike. At Power of Now Oasis, she leads Mandala Flow. Whether you are new to the mat or ready to deepen an established practice, her classes offer a space that feels welcoming, grounding, and heartfelt. For those curious about Vinyasa and AcroYoga, Sheryl is one of the few teachers in Bali offering this dynamic and joyful practice on a regular class schedule. Under her guidance, AcroYoga blends strength, flexibility, and trust in a way that is both playful and transformative.
Through mindful movement and breath, we return to the freedom of our true nature.
