
In 1995, she met her cherished root teacher, Namgyal Rinpoche, an encounter that helped shape the path she continues to follow today. Since his passing, she has remained deeply committed to retreat practice and pilgrimage, carrying this lineage forward through her ongoing studies with respected heart teachers Lama Mark Webber and Lho Ontul Rinpoche.
Her training also includes time with Sayadow U Thila Wunta, Lama Sonam Gyatso, and Karma Chime Wongmo, adding depth and breadth to her spiritual and contemplative background. Alongside this work, Shelane is a Registered Psychotherapist who integrates Expressive Arts Therapy into her private practice.
She also serves First Nations children, youth, and families in remote Northern Ontario communities, bringing care, presence, and professional experience to her work in healing and support.
