About Shastri John Fox
Based in Vancouver, Shastri John Fox has been a dedicated student of Chogyam Trungpa Rinpoche and Sakyong Mipham since 1974. Over the years, he has also maintained a close connection with Thrangu Rinpoche and contributed significantly to the wider Shambhala community. His service has included leadership as President of the Namo Buddha Foundation, where he helped support fundraising efforts for projects in Nepal and India.
Before retirement, John spent 25 years as a partner in an insurance consulting firm. Alongside his professional career, he has held numerous roles within the Vancouver Shambhala Centre, reflecting a long-standing commitment to practice and community. A father of three, he is also a proud grandfather and great-grandfather. In 2012, he was appointed Shastri for Vancouver, recognizing his depth of experience and continued service.
