Shannon Kiley, MM, MT-BC, earned a Master’s degree in Music Therapy from Florida State University and has been a board-certified music therapist since 2011. She works with clients in New Haven, CT, as well as online. Her clinical experience spans hospitals, hospice, private practice, long-term care, home care, and school settings.
Shannon brings a humanistic, holistic perspective to music therapy, seeing music as a meaningful resource for supporting human needs throughout life. She helps clients deepen their relationship with music in ways that feel supportive, while weaving in mindfulness and somatic practices.
Her areas of focus include anxiety and depressive disorders, LGBTQ+ concerns, Alzheimer’s and dementia support, and end-of-life care.
Shannon frequently draws on Supportive Music and Imagery, mindfulness and somatic tools, improvisation, music creation, songwriting, and heartbeat recordings. Each session is shaped around the client’s needs and goals. No musical training is needed to take part in music therapy, though those with a strong connection to music may benefit most.
She offers individual music therapy, music consultation, and heartbeat/legacy recordings.
In addition to her clinical work, Shannon is an award-winning musician, cellist, singer, songwriter, recording artist, and sound bath facilitator who believes music is a human right and a path to our highest selves.
