Sean’s connection with Choose Again began in 2011, following a post-surgical near-death experience, a rapid and severe decline in his physical condition, and a reluctant dependence on sleep, anti-anxiety, and pain medication to get through an extremely difficult period in his life. After spending two weeks at the Choose Again Residential Centre, he uncovered the root of his physical and emotional struggles and came away free of all medication, with a renewed sense of strength inspired by the teachings he encountered there.
The benefits extended well beyond his own healing: his relationships with family, friends, and colleagues all deepened, and most importantly, so did his relationship with himself. Sean continued his practice through several workshops in Vancouver and also volunteered for one month at the residential centre. In December 2015, he returned to Costa Rica for two weeks to navigate an unexpected life crisis, and within days he had regained the steady grounding that the Choose Again wisdom process is known to support. Feeling called to deepen his spiritual practice, he joined the team at the residential centre in July 2016.
Sean brings a rich and varied background to his work, including 10 years with the Bank of Montreal in Treasury and Investment Banking in Vancouver and Toronto, as well as 20 years supporting youth in settings such as probation, mental health, physical disability, and the public school system as both a teacher and counsellor. He also spent five deeply rewarding years at home as the primary caregiver for his children, Stephanie and Connor, during their formative years. Sean offers a loving, empathetic, and practical approach, with a focus on helping clients rediscover the wisdom within.
