ERYT-200, RYT500, YACEP, Certified Yin Yoga Instructor, Paddleboard Yoga Instructor, Aerial Yoga Instructor, Reiki Certified, Hot Asana Yoga University Faculty. Whatever each of us may be navigating, we have all faced similar challenges in life. Yoga is commUNITY, and it belongs to everyone, regardless of age, flexibility, body size, or life path.
I can say with confidence that yoga has transformed the way I move through everyday life. Through my practice, I discovered patience, gratitude, and self-love, to name just a few gifts. I have always appreciated that yoga is called a practice, because it does not ask you to arrive perfect, already strong, flexible, or all-knowing. It simply invites you to meet yourself on the mat exactly as you are.
The benefits appeared almost right away, and it became clear that this was far more than a typical workout. I wanted to deepen my practice and share the gift of yoga with others. In March 2016, I gratefully completed my 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training in Vinyasa flow at Hotasana University in Southern Pines with Virginia Gallagher and Lisa Tiffany.
After that, I moved to Ocracoke Island to teach yoga on the beautiful beach of Cape Hatteras National Seashore. Although I loved teaching outdoors, the weather often had other plans and led to many class cancellations. I knew an indoor space would mean more classes for my community, so I opened Ocracoke Island Yoga Studio in 2018.
Yoga is a daily opportunity to meet yourself with love, compassion, and kindness so you can share that energy with the world. Come flow with me, and I promise you will soon discover many reasons to love yoga and, most importantly, yourself. -Namaste!
