Rupert Adam has spent more than two decades working closely with plants, cultivating a broad variety of vegetable, grain, and medicinal herb seeds. In 2004, while serving as a KY at the Centre, he began collaborating with Dan Jason of Salt Spring Seeds. Today, under the name Akasha Seeds, he continues to grow seeds for Salt Spring Seeds and the BC Eco Seed Co-op.
His experience also includes important work with the Bauta Family Initiative on Canadian Seed Security, where he served for three years as the BC coordinator and for one year as the National Training Advisor. Over the years, Rupert has farmed in several locations across British Columbia and co-authored two books with Dan Jason on medicinal plants.
When he is not working with seeds and plants, Rupert’s main interests are medicinal plants, tincturing, and writing. His favorite thing about the Centre is the land.
