
Rolf Gates is a widely respected voice in contemporary yoga whose writing and teaching continue to guide students and teachers around the world. He is the author of Daily Reflections on Addiction, Yoga, and Getting Well, along with the best-selling Meditations from the Mat: Daily Reflections on the Path of Yoga and Meditations on Intention and Being: Daily Reflections on the Path of Yoga, Mindfulness, and Compassion. His work is often used as a valuable resource for those deepening their practice and understanding of yoga.
He leads vinyasa intensives and 200- and 300-hour teacher trainings internationally, bringing a distinctive perspective shaped by his background as a former US Army Ranger and social worker specializing in addiction. His work has been featured in television and print, including Yoga Journal, People, and Travel and Leisure. In 2018, he published his first children’s book, Yoga Friend: A Pose by Pose Partner Yoga Adventure. Rolf is also a graduate, lead faculty member, and Director of the Kripalu School of Yoga.
