Robert Svoboda

Description

Dr. Robert E. Svoboda is an American author and ayurvedic doctor whose work bridges traditional Indian wisdom with a global audience. He teaches and lectures internationally on ayurveda, jyotish, tantra, and Eastern religion, offering deep insight into these interwoven traditions through his talks and courses. Known for his thoughtful and scholarly approach, he has written eleven books, including Prakriti: Your Ayurvedic Constitution and the acclaimed Aghora trilogy, inspired by his mentor Vimalananda and the Aghori sect.

He made history as the first Westerner to graduate from an ayurveda college and to be licensed to practice ayurveda in India. Having lived in India during two extended periods, he has spent decades immersed in the culture and teachings he shares. Since 1985, he has traveled widely as a lecturer, consultant, teacher, and writer, and has also served on the faculty of the Ayurvedic Institute in Albuquerque and Bastyr University in Washington.
