Rob Dorgan and Steve Bolia have shared life as a couple for 39 years, and throughout that time they have served their community through yoga, meditation, and astrology. Together, they lead workshops and guide yoga and meditation retreats in both domestic and international settings. Their shared mission is to help others recognize their individuality and support them in living with greater inner peace and contentment.
Rob Dorgan holds an MA in European History from the University of Cincinnati. He began writing fiction at the age of seven, starting with his first short story, “Murder at the La Brea Tar Pits,” and later “Murder at the Art Museum.” Although his interests and subject matter have evolved since second grade, his love of a well-told story has never changed.
While working toward his doctorate, Dorgan’s life took a dramatic turn when he was introduced to the mystical practices of astrology and yoga. He left academia and, together with his partner Steve Bolia, moved to Colorado to study and work with Linda Goodman, author of Linda Goodman’s Sun Signs, Love Signs, Star Signs, and Gooberz. He later spent many years as a mentee of master astrologer and Ancient Wisdom teacher Alan Oken.
Yoga and astrology transformed his path. Although Dorgan’s debut, Awakening the Mystic, is fiction, it reflects genuine possibilities for the future of humanity and Mother Earth.
Dorgan is a certified yoga educator, international retreat facilitator, meditation teacher/devotee, and professional astrologer. In February 2025, he and his partner published their first book, Awakening the Mystic: A Novel of Cosmic Love and Healing, which became an Amazon Best Seller in both LGBTQ+ and New Age Mysticism fiction.
He welcomes invitations for live conversations with reading groups about Awakening the Mystic. He is also available to speak on the benefits of yoga and meditation, and to teach group and corporate classes. In addition, he offers one-on-one meditation and astrology counseling sessions designed to help clients better understand and love themselves, while uncovering their inner council for a fuller life.
