Rob Dorgan holds an MA in European History from the University of Cincinnati. His love of storytelling began early, when he wrote his first short story at age seven, titled “Murder at the La Brea Tar Pits,” followed by “Murder at the Art Museum.” Although his interests have shifted since second grade, his passion for telling a compelling story has never faded.
While pursuing his doctorate, Dorgan’s life took a dramatic turn after he was introduced to the mystical disciplines of astrology and yoga. He left academia and relocated to Colorado with his partner, Steve Bolia, to study and work with Linda Goodman, author of Linda Goodman’s Sun Signs, Love Signs, Star Signs, and Gooberz. He later spent many years in mentorship with master astrologer and teacher of the Ancient Wisdom, Alan Oken.
Yoga and astrology transformed his life. Although Dorgan’s debut, Awakening the Mystic, is a work of fiction, it reflects real possibilities for the future of humanity and Mother Earth. He is a certified yoga educator, international retreat facilitator, meditation teacher/devotee, and professional astrologer. In February 2025, he and his partner published their first book, Awakening the Mystic: A Novel of Cosmic Love and Healing, which became an Amazon Best Seller in both LGBTQ+ and New Age Mysticism fiction.
Dorgan welcomes live conversations with reading groups about Awakening the Mystic. He is also available to speak on the benefits of yoga and meditation, as well as to lead group and corporate classes. In addition, he offers one-on-one meditation and astrology counseling sessions designed to help people understand and love themselves more deeply, while uncovering their inner council for a fuller life.
