Rita’s journey into astronomy began nearly 10 years ago, when she volunteered at an observatory shortly after it first opened. What started as an enjoyable way to get involved soon developed into a lasting fascination with the night sky, the stars, and the wider cosmos.
In December 2023, she was invited back to Battlesteads Dark Sky Observatory as Lead Astronomer, where she now works with a close-knit and highly experienced AstroVentures team. This role has allowed her to deepen her expertise while continuing to share the wonder of astronomy with others.
Rita is also studying Astronomy and Planetary Science, and she remains committed to learning more about the universe. Visitors can expect an engaging, knowledgeable guide who brings both enthusiasm and curiosity to every experience.
