Reverend Kozai was born in Royal Oak, Michigan and spent his childhood moving throughout the Midwest, an experience that helped shape his broad perspective and grounded approach to practice. Alongside his work as a Creative Director in the advertising industry, he has cultivated a dedicated Zen practice since 2017.
He now shares that experience through weekly meditation sessions, offering a calm and supportive space for reflection, stillness, and mindfulness. In addition to guiding practice, he gives Dharma talks that invite deeper insight and encourage thoughtful engagement with Zen teachings.
Reverend Kozai also contributes to the wider community by supporting outreach programs, helping extend the spirit of practice beyond the meditation hall. His work blends creativity, service, and spiritual commitment in a way that feels both practical and heartfelt.
