Phyllis K. Hicks has been dedicated to insight meditation since 1998, bringing decades of experience and a deep commitment to the path of practice. Inspired by early Buddhist teachings as a way of life, she is especially drawn to the transformative power of weaving mindfulness and wisdom into relationships and everyday connection. In 2003, she was invited to train as an Insight Dialogue teacher and soon began co-leading retreats with Gregory Kramer.
Today, Phyllis teaches internationally and supports the growth of emerging teachers through training and mentorship. She is also a co-developer of the Interpersonal Mindfulness Program (IMP) and IMP Teacher Training. Her work is rooted in spiritual friendship and relational practice, and she continues to devote herself to these communities. After retiring from a 35-year career as a psychotherapist and Counseling Institute Director, she remains active in sharing this work with care, depth, and clarity.
