Peter Williams brings more than 32 years of meditation practice, rooted primarily in the Theravada Buddhist tradition and enriched by extensive study in the Tibetan tradition. Over the course of his path, he has spent more than 43 months in silent retreat, deepening the kind of insight and steadiness that inform his teaching today.
Since 2003, Peter has shared meditation and mindfulness with a wide range of communities. He is trained as a Community Dharma Leader through Spirit Rock Meditation Center and has studied with respected teachers including Joseph Goldstein, Michelle McDonald, and Guy Armstrong. He is also a co-founder of the Rocky Mountain Ecodharma Retreat Center in Ward, Colorado.
In addition to teaching, Peter works as an emotional wellness consultant and has brought mindfulness to audiences as varied as schoolteachers, environmentalists, and Colorado justices. His earlier professional life included work as an environmental educator for the Massachusetts Audubon Society, a consulting ecologist, and adjunct faculty in the Wildlife Biology Program at the University of Vermont.
