Fr. Paul Morrissey, OSA, is an Augustinian friar and ordained priest whose ministry has long centered on compassion, inclusion, and care for those on the margins. In 1973, he cofounded the Philadelphia chapter of Dignity, an LGBTQ ministry within the Catholic Church, and in 1977 he helped establish Communication Ministry (CMI), an international monthly newsletter, journal, and retreat ministry for LGBTQ priests, brothers, and sisters.
Throughout his life and work, Fr. Paul has served people facing some of life’s most difficult moments, including those who are dying, those seeking counseling, those in prison, and LGBTQ people and their allies. His approach reflects a deep commitment to healing, dignity, and spiritual support.
He is also the author of three books, including Let Someone Hold You: The Journey of a Hospice Priest, an award-winning memoir. His background brings a thoughtful, grounded presence to any retreat or gathering focused on faith, humanity, and belonging.
