Nicaela Haig serves as the Senior Teacher Naturalist with Mass Audubon’s Berkshire Wildlife Sanctuaries, where she brings a thoughtful and engaging approach to environmental learning. Her work centers on bird ecology, native pollinators, and the broader relationship between people and wildlife, inviting others to observe the natural world with greater curiosity and care.
Before returning to New England and joining Mass Audubon about five years ago, she spent a decade leading environmental education and interpretation programs with conservation organizations across the Midwest and Intermountain West, with much of her work rooted in public lands. Wherever her path has taken her, Nicaela has remained committed to helping people better understand — and deepen — the connections they already share with the more-than-human world around them.
