Myoyu Haley Voekel

Myoyu Haley Voekel

Description

Myoyu Haley Voekel’s path into practice began with her first meditation retreat in 2006, an experience that opened the door to a deeper commitment to Zen and yoga. She began practicing with ZCO in 2013, and in 2019 she ordained as a novice priest, honoring her vow to serve ZCO while continuing to deepen her own practice.

Today, Myoyu serves as the Training Director at the Monastery, where her role reflects both her dedication and breadth of experience. Before joining monastic life, she taught yoga in Olympia, WA, after graduating from Evergreen State College. Over the years at the monastery, she has contributed in many ways, including caring for the garden and grounds, serving as tenzo and shuso, and supporting the management of the ZenWorks Store.

In 2023, Myoyu became a Dharma Holder, marking another meaningful step in her ongoing journey of service, leadership, and practice.
