
Mitch Miyagawa became a Certified Trainer with the Center for Nonviolent Communication in 2014, and has since supported hundreds of people through workshops, intensives, summer camps, workplaces, and year-long programs. His approach is shaped by years of practical experience helping individuals and groups build more honest, compassionate, and effective communication.
He served on the leadership team for the 2017 New York Intensive in NVC, further deepening his role in the field. Alongside his teaching, Mitch is an award-winning writer and documentary filmmaker. In 2013, he received the Writers Guild of Canada’s Screenwriting Award for his documentary A Sorry State, which explores the meaning of government apologies. Participants can expect a thoughtful, engaging presence grounded in both professional training and creative insight.
