Born in the Czech Republic, Mira Jempe began life with severe body pain that later received an “incurable” diagnosis of rheumatoid arthritis. Refusing to accept that outcome, he set out on a personal path of healing that took him first to Spain, where he studied movement and meditation with his teacher John, a master of Chen-style Tai Chi. Alongside his creative practice of painting, these disciplines helped him release long-held physical and emotional blockages.
Mira’s journey then continued into the Amazon, where he trained with Shuar healer Miguel Shiriap and other jungle healers, deepening his understanding of the transformative power of Sacred Master Plants. Over the course of three years, he restored his body and moved beyond the pain that had shaped so much of his early life. Since 2010, Mira has been facilitating healing ceremonies around the world together with his wife, Yana. His teacher gave him the name Jempe, meaning “Hummingbird,” as a symbol of boundless energy, creativity, and joy.
