Born into the Theravadan Buddhist tradition, Milhara turned away from it at age six, identifying as an atheist and spending the next 25 years immersed in science and Western philosophy. Over time, life naturally guided her back to Buddhism through contemporary mindfulness teachers, yet something still felt incomplete; the depth of wisdom and compassion she longed for seemed to have been thinned out. Meeting Khenpo-La and receiving his teachings felt like discovering the path she had always been searching for — a homecoming to what had been there all along.
Completing the Autumn Buddhist Philosophy Course gave her a deep understanding of her inner world and how to respond more skillfully to external pressures. Khenpo-La’s guidance has helped Milhara access wisdom and cultivate greater compassion in both her personal and professional life, for herself and others. As a corporate consultant and emerging social worker, dharma teachings now shape everything she does, from daily relationships and creative work to grassroots social justice advocacy. She looks forward to sharing the insight she has gathered over the years, and to continuing a lifelong journey of growth in compassion and wisdom.
