Miguel is the youngest member of the team, and he brings an easygoing, playful energy to daily life with his well-timed jokes and naturally funny personality.
Born and raised in the lively jungle city of Iquitos, his work experience has covered a wide range of fields, including construction, security services, and carpentry. It was, however, during his more recent time at Ayahuasca retreat centers that he developed a deep interest in the healing power of sacred plant medicine.
Guided by Ama-ra Sen, Co-Founder and Retreat Director of Modern Ancient Sanctuary, Miguel began a deeply transformative healing journey of his own. Through powerful experiences with Kambo, Ayahuasca, Iboga, and San Pedro, as well as a month-long Pinion Colorado dieta, he made remarkable progress in a short period of time. Insomnia, severe heart pain, colds, fevers, headaches, and depression gradually gave way to the restorative force of sacred plant medicines.
Alongside this inner work, Miguel also made major changes to his lifestyle and diet. He noticed that he no longer wanted red meat, white meat, fish, processed chocolate, canned and fried foods, or carbonated soft drinks. Instead, he now feels nourished by a diet centered mainly on fish, vegetables, and eggs. He credits these profound changes in his life and behavior, including a significant reduction in alcohol consumption and a new sense of peace with himself and his loved ones, to the path opened through sacred medicine and the support of his mentor.
Committed to continuing his personal growth and spiritual development, Miguel remains attentive to the lessons found in everyday challenges and experiences. His story has inspired family and friends, and today he lives a balanced, healthy life with his loving partner and son.
As an apprentice healer in training at Modern Ancient, Miguel devotes himself fully to strengthening his healing abilities. He feels especially called to building a deep connection with the spirit of Mapacho, sacred tobacco, as a way to support purification for himself and others.
In addition to his shamanic healer training, Miguel is also dedicated to learning English. He dreams of finishing the remaining half of his Computer Engineering degree, opening his own successful carpentry business, and traveling internationally to experience different cultures.
Outside of his healing path, Miguel enjoys watching and playing football. His loyalty belongs to Alianza Lima and Real Madrid, two teams he deeply admires, both in Peru and abroad.
His musical preferences are broad, ranging from reggaeton and romantic ballads to the rich sounds of Peruvian, English, and world music.
When it comes to traditional Peruvian food, Miguel especially enjoys paiche frito, a fried fish dish served with rice and salad, as well as sebada, a refreshing drink made from a distinctive type of seed.
