Michael Santi Keezing brings a rare depth of lived experience to his teachings, shaped by years spent within the Thai forest tradition, a meditation-centered branch of Theravada Buddhism. He lived for eight years as a monastic, including six years as a fully ordained monk, and studied in monasteries, as a wanderer, and within both traditional and Western lay-Buddhist communities.
Before ordination, he followed a varied adult path that included writing, giving him a broad perspective that continues to inform his approach to practice and teaching. His background reflects both disciplined monastic training and real-world experience, creating a grounded and accessible presence for students seeking insight, stillness, and meaningful spiritual guidance.
