Micah Mortali, MA, is a forward-thinking leader in mindfulness, rewilding, and nature connection. As the Founding Director of the Kripalu School of Mindful Outdoor Leadership, he helped create a pioneering training program that certifies mindful outdoor guides to lead experiences rooted in awe, deep connection, and healing in the natural world. His commitment to this mission has inspired many people to discover their potential through the transformative power of nature.
He holds a Master’s degree in Health Arts and Sciences from Goddard College and believes that human beings are a self-aware expression of the living earth. For Micah, the future depends on remembering this truth and restoring communication with the systems that sustain life on this planet. He lives in the Berkshires with his wife and children, where he spends time outdoors listening to the Earth, sitting by a fire, or enjoying the sound of a brook.
Micah is the author of Rewilding: Meditations, Practices, and Skills for Awakening in Nature, a book that reached the International Space Station in 2022 and had a profound impact on US astronaut Colonel Mark T. Vande Hei’s record-breaking mission.
