Mayela Nunez Matarrita comes from Playa Paloma, one of the beaches just beside Soltara, where she grew up in the beautiful local community that surrounds the retreat. Most of her family still lives there as well. Before joining Soltara, she worked in housekeeping at several hotels in San Jose, about four hours from home, until she found the chance to work much closer to her family—a change she considers a true blessing.
Outside of work, Mayela enjoys motorcycles and rallies, dancing, and reading. What she values most about being part of Soltara is the warm, family-like atmosphere among the team, something she had not experienced in her previous jobs. She also appreciates being so close to home, which gives her more time with her loved ones and saves her from long travel days.
With her bright smile and strong dedication, Mayela takes pride in keeping the rooms and grounds beautifully clean for every guest.
