Mary Aubry (she/her) guides meditation retreats centered on insight, the jhanas, emptiness, and the brahmaviharas. Her teaching also includes programs that help participants meet aging, illness, and dying with greater mindfulness and compassion, as well as training for meditation companions who support those facing these life stages and the people who care for them.
Drawing from both professional and deeply personal experience, Mary offers meditative support to parents who have lost a child. She brings a profound understanding of grief after the death of her son from cancer in 2015. In addition, she serves as one of the facilitating teachers for Bhikkhu Analayo’s online Satipatthana and Anapanasati courses through the Barre Center for Buddhist Studies.
Before becoming a full-time meditation teacher, Mary spent 24 years working as a lawyer at the U.S. Justice Department, bringing a grounded and thoughtful presence to her teaching.
