Martina is an APA titled pain physiotherapist with professional experience across Australia, Switzerland, and Germany. She currently works as a senior physiotherapist within the interdisciplinary outpatient Network Pain Management Program Precision Ascend in Melbourne, and also teaches the “Explain Pain” and “GMI” courses for the Neuro-Orthopaedic Institute (NOI) in Adelaide.
After completing her yoga teacher training in 2019, she became especially interested in combining yoga therapy, cold water therapy, and pain science in both her pain management work and her small integrative allied health clinic in Port Melbourne.
Her background began in musculoskeletal and sports medicine, supported by a postgraduate diploma in Manipulative Therapy and a Master of Science from Curtin University Perth. Later, her work shifted more fully toward persistent pain after joining the interdisciplinary ADAPT Pain Management Team in Sydney. She also regularly publishes and translates for textbooks and scientific journals in both German and English.
Since moving to Melbourne in December 2013, Martina has taken on annual tutoring responsibilities at La Trobe University for the Pain Science module in the Advanced Clinical Sciences Master. She is also a mentor in the Local Pain Educator Program run through PAIN REVOLUTION. With 20 years of teaching experience, she remains passionate about bringing pain science into clinical practice.
Martina is a member of the Australian Physiotherapy Association, the Australian Pain Society, and the German Pain Society.
