
Maria Mercedes Agreda is a Kamentsa Indigenous woman, medicine woman, and the daughter of Taita Juan Bautista Agreda. Throughout her life, she has devoted herself to supporting and uplifting her community through meaningful projects that help preserve its language, culture, elders, and ancestral arts.
As a student at the Madre Tierra faculty of the National University and an Indigenous activist within the OIOC organization, she plays an active role in initiatives dedicated to protecting and strengthening the Kamentsa ancestral legacy. Her work reflects a deep commitment to cultural continuity, community care, and the survival of an endangered Indigenous heritage.
