Maria Damsholt is a psychologist and psychotherapy specialist with extensive experience supporting cancer patients through her work as a health insurance psychologist in Copenhagen Municipality. She has also taken part in all of Elisabeth Kübler-Ross’ courses in Virginia, USA, bringing a deep and compassionate understanding of end-of-life care to her teaching.
Her background includes volunteer service at a hospice in North Carolina, where she gained hands-on experience in supporting people and their families during profoundly sensitive moments. Maria is also the founder of Medicin Buddhas Lysende Klare Land, a center for conscious living and dying that welcomes everyone and is rooted in Buddhist values.
The center is based on respect for each dying person’s own wishes and circumstances. For the past 20 years, Maria has trained and supervised volunteers, helping them serve as vigil companions and visitors with presence, care, and dignity.
