Marcia McLaughlin is an oblate and a retired spiritual director whose life is shaped by contemplation, creativity, and a deep attentiveness to the world around her. She enjoys photography and poetry, often exploring how these two forms of expression can speak to one another and reveal new perspectives. Her academic background includes a Master of Arts in Transforming Spirituality from Seattle University, along with certification in spiritual direction.
Her work is especially rooted in a love of the natural world, with a thoughtful interest in how people relate to it and what it may be trying to communicate. Justice is also a meaningful thread in both her life and writing. Marcia has self-published one book of poems, Nature's Messages, reflecting the reflective and nature-centered spirit that informs her work.
