Maestro Idael is a Shipibo shaman from the village of Vencedor on the Pisqui River, carrying forward a living tradition of ancestral wisdom. As the son of Maestro Pedro, a respected healer in his community, he was introduced to plant medicine from an early age. After his father’s passing, Idael felt a strong calling to continue the path of healing and honor the knowledge passed down through his lineage.
He is currently apprenticing under the guidance of his aunt, Maestra Justina, one of the region’s most revered Onayas. Through her mentorship, he is deepening his understanding of sacred master plants, learning to navigate the spirit world, and developing his ability to channel Icaros—healing songs believed to connect with divine energies.
Idael’s path is guided by humility, respect, and a sincere wish to support others in their healing and transformation. Rooted in compassion, he carries the spirit of his ancestors and the teachings of his father and aunt as he continues to grow in his role as a healer and preserve the sacred traditions of Shipibo culture.
