Shipibo name: Siniveri, meaning “All Equal.”
Sulmira began her path of plant dieting at the age of 13, learning alongside her father, Melchiade Vela Lomas, a respected healer in the region. Her first dieta was with piñon colorado, and over the years she continued to diet with her father for extended periods, sometimes for months at a time. In her late twenties, she began working with medicinal plants and ayahuasca to support the healing of others, and today she brings more than 23 years of experience to her practice.
From an early age, Sulmira felt a deep calling to help people heal. She has worked with children, adults, and seniors, offering care with dedication and compassion. Throughout her life, she has dieted many plants, with piñon colorado, albahaca, bobinsana, and waira caspi among her favorites.
