Born into the Shipibo community of Pahoyan, Maestra Juana comes from one of the most respected healing lineages in the Peruvian Amazon. She is around 60 years old, though her exact age is not known. For more than 35 years, she has studied with Maestra Manuela, Papa Gilberto, and Papa Bejamin, all members of the renowned Mahua curandero family. At the age of 20, Juana began her dieta with the mythical Amazonian tree Noya Rao, and she has devoted her life to the healing path ever since. She also has a deep understanding of the human body, with exceptional knowledge of the bones and skeletal system. Juana specializes in bone massage and will offer this unique healing experience during the Noya Rao retreat. Her wisdom, experience, and joyful spirit make her a wonderful presence on the retreat.
