Working in the mountains while supporting others on their mindfulness path feels like a true calling. With a personal meditation practice spanning 25 years, Madelyne Schermer found that attending meditation retreats brought even greater depth and momentum to her journey. She brings that same sense of care and presence to creating a supportive space where inner work can unfold naturally.
Alongside her role as a retreat manager, Madelyne is also a meditation teacher and a Trained Mindfulness Facilitator from the UCLA Mindful Awareness Research Center. Her experience includes parent mindfulness groups, mindful pregnancy, family retreats, workplace mindfulness, and one-on-one sessions, offering a broad and compassionate approach to practice.
She feels especially inspired by environments that encourage growth, connection, and authenticity, and Big Bear Retreat Center is one of those places that continues to bring out the best in her.
