From 2005 to 2022, Mace Fleeger followed a deeply personal pilgrimage under the guidance of his teacher and friend, Eliot Cowan. Over the years, he found that his well-being and learning were greatly enriched by regular participation in Sacred Fire community fires, becoming an enthusiastic and committed part of fire communities for around 15 years. In 2023, he joined a firekeeping training program with the intention of sharing this rare opportunity for others to experience the ancient, transformative alchemy of community and sacred fire.
Born and raised in Florida, Mace developed an early appreciation for the outdoors. Professionally, he works as a Creative Director and Graphic Designer. Outside of his trade, he is known as a fireside singer of cowboy songs and a natural storyteller, bringing warmth, character, and a sense of tradition to every gathering.
