For the past 30 years, Luis has followed a path shaped by passion and purpose in Pastaza’s tourism sector, guiding groups of young international visitors eager for adventure. To offer them the best possible experience, he immersed himself in English language study and completed a two-year intensive course.
As interest grew in discovering the secrets of the jungle, Luis became a key figure in training the first generation of naturalist guides in Pastaza. He earned his official license from the Ministry of Tourism and the Ministry of Environment in 1997. Since then, he has proudly worked as a Naturalist Guide, ensuring every visitor enjoys a safe, enriching journey filled with natural wonder.
His curiosity about the unknown and fascination with Amazonian cultures led him to take part in ayahuasca sessions and rituals with teachers and shamans from Ecuador, Peru, and Colombia. By helping professionalize and standardize this ancestral medicine, Luis has come to understand its transformative power to release, heal, and support emotional, psychological, and spiritual balance.
With years of experience and a deep passion in his heart, Luis founded his own company, Selvavidatravel, in 2008. His dedication, love for tourism service, and respect for nature have helped exceed visitors’ expectations, leaving them with an unforgettable memory of the Amazon.
