About Louise Amuir
Louise Amuir joined the Haven Foundation Board in March 2023 and is also a current Haven Faculty member and retired staff member. During her long tenure from 1989 to 2021, she worked across the kitchen, conference, housekeeping, and maintenance departments, eventually serving for 10 years as fundraising and financial aid manager. This experience gave her a strong understanding of budgeting, from the big-picture balance of income and expenses to the finer details of finding the best value and greatest efficiency.
Louise is deeply grateful for the many learning opportunities and support she received at Haven, which helped her grow in a rich and meaningful environment. She is also thankful for the land on Snuneymuxw Territory, where lessons of connection, interdependence, and reciprocity continue to unfold.
Committed to diversity, inclusion, equity, and reconciliation, Louise supports the ongoing evolution of healing, learning, understanding across difference, and collaborative processes throughout the Haven organization on this beautiful land by the Salish Sea.
