Originally from Ottawa, Canada, Lori Dye is the founder of Village of Islands Yoga and now makes her home in northern New York. An E-RYT and YACEP, she has spent more than 35 years immersed in yoga, living it as a way of life. Her passion for the practice comes through in the breath, the sense of inner peace and joy, and the physical gifts of a consistent practice—all of which shape her teaching.
Since completing her first 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training in 2015, Lori has taught more than 4,150 hours across group classes, private sessions, workshops, and retreats in the U.S., Canada, Costa Rica, and Thailand. In 2021, she completed a second 200-hour YTT with a special focus on Ayurveda.
Lori is also a National Board Certified Health & Wellness Coach (NBC-HWC), Intuitive/Life Coach, Certified Facilitator in the Integrative Amrit Method of Yoga Nidra, Hypnotherapist, and Meditation & Mindfulness Facilitator. She teaches Life Coaching, Hypnotherapy, Modern Spirituality, Intuitive Coaching, Health and Wellness Coaching, Mindfulness & Meditation, and Yoga Nidra courses at a private college. In addition, she leads yoga, guided imagery, and mindfulness sessions for students and staff at various state and private universities, as well as K-12 schools.
Known for her warm and welcoming style, Lori invites students to practice mindfulness, move with breath-led intention, and listen closely to their bodies. She skillfully weaves stillness and movement together, offering modifications so yoga remains accessible to all. Today, she offers in-person classes and retreats, along with live-streaming, on-demand, and remote sessions.
