Lisa began practicing Bikram yoga in 2002 and, during her first year, committed to a daily practice for three years to build a strong foundation in her body. Over that time, she experienced the full benefits of yoga and continued her healing journey, supporting her back issues and her diagnosed clinical depression. Today, she still practices four to five times a week.
With more than 30 years in the fitness industry, Lisa first worked as a personal trainer for a private company, teaching at some of the elite country clubs in the lower mainland. She trained private clients and developed classes for club members. Since 2007, when she completed her teacher training in Hawaii, she has also been teaching yoga. After returning from training, she added the Advanced 84 Asanas series to her daily practice for three years, alongside the regular 90-minute class.
Lisa holds certifications in Bikram Yoga, Yin Yoga, and Personal Training. She recently completed training with Gabi Walters in Inferno Hot Pilates and plans to pursue Inferno Hot Pilates Level 2 in the near future.
She teaches with love and compassion, always hoping to see each student achieve results to the best of their ability. Her favorite postures are Triangle, Standing Head to Knee, and Rabbit, all of which were once impossible for her and remain a challenge today.
“I would say to all students that the words we offer in class are not only there to support physical concerns; the dialogue is also a song sung to the soul. If you listen with your heart, you will find your peace.”
