Introduced to the Pilates method during her studies in ballet and contemporary dance at the University of Cape Town, Lilani Vlok found a new path through movement when repeated knee injuries brought her professional dance ambitions to a close. That turning point inspired her to pursue teacher training in 2000 with Body Arts and Science International (BASI), where she deepened her understanding of mindful, intelligent movement and body awareness.
By 2001, she had earned certification in both mat and equipment-based Pilates, including the Reformer, Chair, and Cadillac. Her background in dance gives her teaching a strong sense of precision, alignment, and flow, while her Pilates training supports a balanced approach focused on strength, control, and functional movement. Participants can expect a thoughtful, well-informed session style shaped by both artistic discipline and technical expertise.
