Lila Kirtana began her yoga path in 2000, and over time the practice gently opened into a deeper call toward a more conscious, devotional way of living. From 2005, she lived and studied as a Vedic nun in a traditional ashram, spending three transformative years immersed in spiritual practice, service, and in-depth study. During that period, she completed her 500-hour yoga teacher training and laid the foundation for a lifelong commitment to sharing yoga from the heart.
Since 2008, Lila has worked full-time as a teacher, guide, and mentor, supporting students along their own yoga journeys with both practical knowledge and an invitation to reconnect with their inner truth. As a senior teacher trainer and retreat facilitator, she has supported hundreds of students with an integrated, soulful approach. Her certifications include Prenatal & Postnatal Yoga, Children’s Yoga, Yin Yoga, and Yoga for Mental Health.
In her role as course creator and head teacher trainer at Krishna Village since 2016, Lila has trained more than 500 yoga teachers. Her teaching brings together traditional Hatha, Bhakti, and holistic Ayurvedic wisdom in a way that feels both steady and expansive. She also teaches on prenatal teacher trainings and leads women’s wellness retreats throughout the Northern Rivers, with a deep respect for the sacred feminine and the healing strength of community.
A devoted mother, Lila brings yoga into her family life, her music, and her daily rhythms. She holds a Diploma in Remedial Massage and plays harmonium and drum. As the lead singer of The Krishna Kirtan band, she shares sacred sound and mantra at festivals and regular gatherings. Rooted in bhakti, the yoga of love and devotion, her teaching invites others to return to the heart, honour their unfolding, and remember their wholeness.
