Liisa Maimon is recognized for her passionate, approachable way of presenting ancient tantric practices, bringing transformative teachings to students across the world.
As a co-founder and senior teacher at Somananda Tantra School, Liisa Maimon supports spiritual seekers internationally through the timeless sciences of Tantra and Yoga. Yet her journey to becoming a respected yogini and spiritual guide was far from traditional. From an early age, her life was mapped out according to a socially approved idea of success. Intelligent and highly driven, she was on a steady path toward a self-built future shaped by career progress, financial stability, and, eventually, family life.
She distinguished herself in higher education, completing a Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration and a Master’s in Public Policy and Management at respected European universities. Fluent in Estonian, English, German, and Russian, she went on to secure a senior management role at the global company Johnson & Johnson and was well positioned for continued advancement in the corporate world.
Still, life led her in another direction. In 2009, she took her first course with Somananda, an experience that changed the course of her life. The course awakened a deep inner knowing and a powerful spiritual longing that could no longer be set aside.
With complete clarity, Liisa made a firm choice: she left behind her corporate ambitions and devoted herself fully to her spiritual growth and to the development of the spiritual school.
Om Namah Shivaya
Over the following years, she committed herself to study with unwavering dedication. Her efforts were formally acknowledged in 2012, when Somananda initiated her as a teacher of Yoga, Tantra, and meditation. Since then, she has shared this life-changing knowledge with international audiences with great passion.
In addition to her work as an advanced teacher, Liisa has served as the general manager of Somananda Tantra School since its founding in 2009. She played a key role in developing the school from a local Estonian initiative into a global spiritual university.
Her leadership has helped broaden its reach and make the valuable teachings of Tantra and Yoga accessible to sincere seekers around the world in a clear and welcoming way. Today, alongside her teaching responsibilities, Liisa oversees all administrative work with an international team of project managers and teachers.
Liisa is also a well-known presence in the global spiritual community. She has spoken at a range of European Yoga and Tantra festivals and spent three years leading the team that organized one of the largest Tantra festivals in the world.
Her expertise has been featured on Estonian National TV, in radio interviews, and in numerous articles published by leading newspapers and magazines. Together with Somananda, she co-created the school’s YouTube channel, which has now received millions of views and continues to respond to the questions of those exploring the tantric path.
