Liam Murphy
Description
Liam entered Saint Charles Seminary in Philadelphia at 18 and was ordained a Catholic priest in 1990. He spent 32 years serving the Latino community as a parish priest, including four years in Barceloneta, Puerto Rico. In 2015, he founded Mother of Mercy House, a storefront church in Philadelphia’s Kensington neighborhood, created as a presence of peace in a community affected by violence, poverty, and drugs.
In 2022, Liam felt called toward a more inclusive ministry that nurtures the mystic in every person. He believes silence can lead us to our true self and deepen our awareness of the interconnectedness of all creation. Guided by that vision, he accompanies those seeking unity and peace, where all hearts beat together within the One Heart. Drawn to Assisi as a home of peace and welcome for all, he chose to join the Assisi Team in bringing love to everyone.
