Lewis is an initiated Master Shamanic Shipibo healer known for his calm, reassuring presence and quiet authority. Through a deep relationship with sacred medicines such as Ayahuasca, San Pedro, and a wide variety of powerful Amazonian plants, he guides deeply transformative healing experiences.
Raised in Contamana, close to the Ucayali River, Lewis grew up surrounded by spirituality. He comes from a lineage of shamans and healers devoted to sacred medicine, and his life began with a ceremonial blessing. After his umbilical cord was cut, his parents placed the sacred plant Pinion Colorado on him while prayers and icaros were sung, welcoming him into the world in a sacred way.
As a child and teenager, Lewis supported his family’s farming and fishing work while also learning the practice of healing with sacred medicine. Of all the medicines, Ayahuasca became especially close to his heart, as its ceremonies consistently brought him vivid visions and meaningful messages. At 16, he began to explore Ayahuasca more deeply and embraced his shamanic path with seriousness. At 18, he traveled to Iquitos and spent two years in the army. By 21, he had decided to dedicate his life to shamanic healing and to work with the plants as fully as possible.
Lewis later traveled throughout Peru, taking on different jobs while continuing his work as a shamanic healer. He supported people in their healing and completed demanding, long sacred plant diets. At 32, he chose to devote himself entirely to healing others with sacred medicine, and at 67 he continues this work with determination. Along with clearing negative energy attachments and addressing related illnesses, he has helped people improve a wide range of health conditions. His healing work includes support for pain in the body and bones, as well as urinary disorders, gastrointestinal diseases, kidney disorders, and internal infections.
Lewis has worked at various retreat centers, but today he focuses mainly on private clients, either in his own home or in theirs. At Modern Ancient, he supports Ayahuasca ceremonies by removing the energy linked to physical pain or discomfort, often helping participants feel immediate relief.
His guidance for people of all ages is to stay positive in thought and action, and to cleanse their energy with sacred plants as often as possible. He believes that negative energies, which can contribute to illness and disease, can be released and transformed into healthier, more loving ways of living. Outside of his healing work, Lewis enjoys sightseeing with his partner and children. Fish is his favorite food, and he finds comfort and happiness in listening to Huayno, a traditional Peruvian music style rooted in Andean culture.
