About Leigh Brasington

Leigh Brasington (he/him) has been dedicated to meditation practice since 1985 and is recognized as the senior American student of the late Ven. Ayya Khema. He began assisting her in 1994 and started leading retreats independently in 1997. Leigh is also authorized to teach by Jack Kornfield, reflecting a long-standing commitment to sharing contemplative practice with clarity and depth.

Teaching Experience

Over the years, Leigh has taught the jhanas and a range of insight practices at more than 150 residential retreats across the United States and Europe. His teaching is known for offering practical guidance within a supportive retreat setting, helping participants deepen concentration, strengthen mindfulness, and explore meditation with confidence.

Publications

Leigh is the author of Right Concentration: A Practical Guide to the Jhanas and Dependent Origination and Emptiness: Streams of Dependently Arising Processes Interacting. His books reflect his extensive experience and his clear, methodical approach to meditation practice.
