Lauren Vanee has been practicing yoga since 2005, when an interest in the spiritual side of the practice led her to explore asanas through Baptist-style vinyasa. Yoga remained a central part of her daily life until 2018, when a metastatic cancer diagnosis unexpectedly revealed progressive bone damage and a significant loss of mobility. Living with pain and undergoing intensive long-term treatment opened a new chapter and invited her to deepen the non-physical foundations of yoga: meditation, discipline, and breathing techniques.
Three years later, the cancer was gone, but her body was left markedly misaligned and with severe muscle tightness. Yoga asanas were still out of reach. In her search to restore healthy mobility, Lauren discovered Pilates through an inspiring teacher who saw no limits in her body, only potential. Through steady Pilates practice, along with the guidance and encouragement of that teacher, her body returned to its pre-illness level of strength.
That recovery sparked a deep desire to study Pilates-inspired exercise, therapeutic movement, and the role of breath in overall health. She later earned a certification in Mat Pilates. Her teaching philosophy is grounded in the idea that the physical body is an interconnected, intelligent system. Her style emphasizes low-impact movement, high awareness, breath connection, and an invitation to stay curious and have fun.
