Lauren began teaching yoga in 1997, following completion of the Sivananda teacher training program. She later continued her studies with a blend of Ashtanga Vinyasa, Shadow Yoga, and Iyengar Yoga. Her path has also been shaped by the fluid, graceful quality of a Scaravelli-inspired practice and the gentle softness of Yin Yoga. She has spent considerable time in India, taught and served in ashrams and yoga centers around the world, and studied Sanskrit, yoga philosophy, and North Indian classical music. In 2018, she returned to the Sivananda lineage to study Yoga Nidra as taught by Swami Satyananda.
Her classes bring together these influences through a soft vinyasa flow, woven into the spiritual heart of yoga. Each session becomes an inward journey, a return to Source. For Lauren, yoga is sacred and a way of life, and she feels grateful to share these teachings with others. She considers herself blessed to live in alignment with what she loves and to spend her days doing meaningful work.
When she is not leading retreats or teaching, Lauren lives a sweet, slow, and simple life with her husband and cats. She grows much of her own food and spends time on the land, communing with the ancient trees in their forest. Her deepest joy comes from resting in the connection between nature and silence. This is meditation. This is yoga. This is what she loves to share.
